The Equestrian

I drew this cartoon after the unveiling of that ridiculous monument to genocide that we call The Equestrian. What a way to greet new visitors to El Paso, right? I know the Native Americans I drew were a little "Hollywood", but I had to make it clear that they were Native American, and hey, my son is 1/4 Yaqui, so don't give me any grief about racism.

David Sokolec, friend and blogger, is credited for the concept and copy.

You might have mentioned that this cartoon was not your idea. I asked you if you would draw it which you did, but the idea was mine. Thank you for the credit.-david sokolec

Did you look at the bottom of the cartoon, David? Where it says: Concept by David Sokolec, Illustration by Jennifer Burton-i'll make it more clear...

Blah, blah, blah.

The statue has been up for several years now, and it's not going away. Move on.

Jeff, in case you haven't read the mission statement of the Lavatory, it is as follows: http://repositoryofrepose.blogspot.com/2008/10/because-lavatory-is-where-your-editor.html. This is a waste receptacle for stuff that didn't, for one reason or another, get published, as well as a toxic waste dump for my random musings. This space is my very own composting toilet, where flowers may one day bloom from my daily brain waste. So, blah blah blah to you too. And, while I'm at it, up your nose with a rubber hose.
